Reminder: Weekend Planner: Kiss Me Kate, Easter Egg Hunt and Chocolate Tasting

Suggestions on what to do Friday and this weekend.

 

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1. KISS ME, KATE

Where/when: Burlington High School, 123 Cambridge St.; Friday & Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why go: Burlington High School presents Cole Porter's award-winning musical comedy, Kiss Me, Kate, a lively and raucous musical within a musical that is based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. Filled with musical gems including "Too Darn Hot," "So In Love," "From This Moment On," "Wunderbar," and "Brush Up Your Shakespeare."

Pricing: $10 for students/seniors, $15 for adults

2. CHOCOLATE TASTING FUNDRAISER

Where/when: Presbyterian Church of Burlington, 335 Cambridge St.; Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: Support Project Bread's Walk for Hunger and learn the techniques behind getting the best out of your chocolate tasting experience, taste different types of chocolate and discover how it is made.

Pricing: There is a $5 entrance fee. 20 percent of all fine chokolader catalog sales during the event will be donated to Project Bread.

3. EASTER COOKIE DECORATING

Where/when: Panera Bread, 34 Cambridge St; Saturday at 3 p.m.

Why go: Decorate an Easter Egg Cookie with the kids and delicious treats. Fun Saturday event. A percentage of funds from cookie sales go to Children's
Hospital Boston.

Pricing: Purchase Cookies

4. GUIDED TOUR OF LANDLOCKED FOREST

Where/when: Meet at 1 p.m. at Turning Mill Road parking area or Meet at 12:45 p.m. at Burlington Town Hall to go in a caravan to the Landlocked Forest.

Why go: Get out into the Landlocked Forest with other nature-enthusiasts in the safety of a guided tour.

Pricing: Free

5. EASTER EGG HUNT

Where/when: Mount Hope Christian Center, 3 McGinnis Dr.; Sunday at 9 a.m.

Why go: On Sunday, April 1st during the 9:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. services, the "Kingdom Kidz" will have fun through an Easter egg hunt and by learning the true meaning of Easter. Do not forget to bring your Easter basket and wear your play clothes for the egg hunt. Parents are welcome to join.
