Updated: Two Killed in Dec. 20 Mall Road Accident

Chief Yetman of the Burlington Fire Department informed the public today that two people died in the Dec. 20 accident on Mall Road.

Fire Chief Steven Yetman has provided a couple of additional details on the victims of yesterday's crash.

The driver was a 72 year old male. The passenger was an 88 year old female from Boston.

Yetman said the names will not be released at this time.

Two people have passed away as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday's accident at 25 Mall Road.

Chief Steven Yetman of the Burlington Fire Department told Patch today that the two people, and elderly driver and passenger, who sustained injuries and were transported to Lahey Clinic have died as a result of their injuries.

The names of the victims have not yet been released.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was not seriously injured and refused medical transportation.

Burlington Police are suggesting motorists traveling in town avoid Mall Road for the time being as emergency crews respond to a serious motor vehicle accident.

The Burlington Police Department tweeted at 2:26 p.m. today that there has been a motor vehicle crash at 25 Mall Road. A serious injury has been reported.

Police stated people should avoid Mall Road as traffic is backing up and emergency crews need space to move.
