Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department  log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

June 7

• At 9:08 a.m. an Irene Street resident reported two suspicious vehicles in the neighborhood. Both vehicles were gone when police arrived. 
• At 10:37 a.m. police responded to a call from 2 Arboretum Way. Caller reported someone hit the building with a vehicle. Report states an elderly resident backed out of a parking space and accelerated backwards, went down an embankment and struck Building #2. 
• At 4:11 p.m. a Davida Road resident reported that a recently-planted tree had been turned over. She stated youths cut through her yard as a shortcut and that she has asked them to stop to no avail. Police report states the tree appeared fine and nobody answered the door when they arrived. 
•  At 6:36 p.m. a manager from the Shell station at 198 Cambridge St., reported that a youth fled the store after taking a pack of cigarettes. Manager stated he or she would review the security camera footage. 
• At 7:02 p.m. an Upland Road resident reported a mailbox was struck by an unknown motor vehicle. The mailbox was destroyed and there was no known witnesses or suspects. 
• At 7:45 p.m. police arrested a Burlington man for protective custody. 
• At 10:26 p.m. a caller reported a fire at Simonds Park. Police extinguished a small brush fire that damaged a rubber mat surrounding the tennis courts. 
• At 10:34 p.m. a Donald Road resident reported damage to the rear of her house. Police state that a section of gutter had been removed by an unknown person(s) and used to trap a small rodent. Animal was freed and gutter returned to resident. 

June 8

• At 8:49 a.m. a Locust St. resident reported two males going door to door in the area. Police were unable to locate but noted XFinity ads hung on doors. 
• At 5:49 p.m. a Carey Avenue resident reported a motor vehicle by and someone inside threw a small television set at her mailbox. The television did enough damage to require a replacement mailbox and replacement of supporting structure. 
• At 8:45 p.m. a property manager at Hallmark Gardens reported an abandoned vehicle with missing plates had been left at the property. 

June 9 

• At 1:03 a.m. police issued a summons to a Lowell man on a charge of operating a motor vehicle after revocation of registration. 
• At 9:04 a.m. police issued a summons to a Needham man on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an unregistered vehicle. 
• At 10:11 a.m. a woman called police to report that her credit card had been misused at Sears Automotive Center. Caller stated she believed her son had used the card without permission. 
• At 10:33 a.m. police issued a summons to a Billerica man on charges of a motor vehicle lights violation and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. 
• At 11:03 a.m. a caller from Arboretum Way reported someone had gone through his vehicle and stole loose change. No forced entry. 
• At 11:24 a.m. Dave's Septic reported an empty port-a-potty at the reservoir on Wellesley Avenue was missing. Police walked through the reservoir with the driver and located the port-a-potty approximately a quarter mile in the woods. 
• At 2:09 p.m. a Dolores Drive resident reported his parents had been victimized of $3,500 by a phone scam. Caller claiming to be party's grandson stated he was in Peru and needed bail money wired to him. 
• At 5:42 p.m. a caller reported that a male and female were engaged in inappropriate behavior in a parked car at D'Angelos, 59 Middlesex Turnpike. Police sent couple on their way. 
• At 8:16 p.m. police arrested Johnny Naut, 47, of 28A Railroad St., Apartment 8, Methuen on charges of possession to distribute Class B drug and possession to distribute Class A drug. 
• At 8:21 p.m. police issued a $100 civil fine for possession of marijuana less than an ounce. Small amount of substance was confiscated. 
• At 9:48 p.m. Solstice in the Burlington Mall reported the theft of a $245 pair of sunglasses.
