Police Logs: Stranger in Home Reported, Man Summonsed for OUI

Burlington Police Logs for March 23 to 24.

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

March 23

  • At 12:25 p.m. a Carol Avenue resident reported that he let someone watch his dog and that the other person will not return the animal. Police to contact new caretaker, who is on the Cape.
  • At 4:18 p.m. a manager from reported that four youths were in the back of the building breaking bottles. Youths gone when police arrived. No damage done and store to clean up glass. 
  • At 6:38 p.m. a caller reported a group of youths were smoking and drinking at Regan Park. Youths picked up by parents.
  • At 9:56 a caller reported that youths wearing masks were running into traffic on Baron Park Lane.

March 24

  • At 12:48 a.m. a caller reported a drunk female walking in front of Hallmark Gardens. Police transported woman home.
  • At 1:27 a.m. police issued a summons to a Medford man on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, a marked lanes violation and speeding. Man was also transported to hospital.
  • At 2:26 a.m. police placed a Burlington woman in protective custody.
  • At 2:35 p.m. the Mass State Police contacted the Burlington Police Department to alert them of prank calls coming in to their barracks from Burlington. Police contacted the residence in question and learned a group of 9-year-old children were making prank calls and police advised them of the potential consequences of doing it again.
  • At 5:37 p.m. a caller from Francis Wyman Road reported that the night before at 8:30 p.m. he was in his home when he heard someone enter the rear of the house. When he went to see who it was, he heard someone jump down the stairs and slam the back door. The caller did not see the suspect or any vehicle. Police checked area but did not see anything out of the ordinary.
  • At 5:40 p.m. police issued a summons to a Burlington woman on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Summons issued following a vehicle accident.
  • At 8:16 p.m. a Great Pines Ave resident called to report a large campfire in a neighbor's yard. The fire was in a wheelbarrel and was extinguished by homeowner with the Fire Department present.
