Police Logs: Juvenile Shoplifter Caught, House Break-in Reported

Burlington Police Department logs for Nov. 8 to 9.

 

Following are excerpts from the Burlington Police Department log. Note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 8

  • At 1:47 p.m. a caller at the Citizens Bank on Middlesex Turnpike reported a male in the parking lot approached her and attempted to give her a box with what he said contained make-up to try for free. Caller refused and wanted male left the area.
  • At 2:41 p.m. a Shady Lane Drive caller reported that a tree service company representatives were attempting to get her to agree to work. Sales people would not leave, the caller stated, and said if she didn't have some trees cut down right away they would fall at any moment. Police checked the area but the men were gone.
  • At 3:07 p.m. the Burlington Animal Control Officer reported delivering a dangerous dog letter to a Laurel Lane homeowner.
  • At 4:42 p.m. a Beacon Village resident reported her 12-year-old daughter was being harassed by a neighbor. Caller said her daughter and her friend were followed around by a 13-year-old female neighbor. Same was giving the pair "the finger" and calling them names. This is an ongoing problem.
  • At 6:54 p.m. Macy's reported detaining a female shoplifter who tried to take $184 worth of merchandise. 16-year-old female released to custody of her mother.
  • At 8:22 p.m. Barnes & Noble reported a male shoplifter in the store. Suspect left before police arrived.

Nov. 9

  • At 11:56 a.m. a Stoneybrook Road caller reported his house was broken into. Police confirmed break with force through a rear door. Watches and jewelry taken sometime between 11 a.m. and noon. Starter pistol also stolen.
  • At 12:43 p.m. a Best Buy security reported two video games stolen.
  • At 4:37 p.m. a Chandler Road caller reported youths next door continue to throw tennis and golf balls at his window. No damage at this time but caller wanted incident logged.
  • At 9:02 p.m. police arrested a Burlington woman on a warrant from another agency.
  • AT 9:08 p.m. police placed a 15-year-old female into protective custody.
