"The Knit Wits" a local group, put together gift bags for nursing home residents

Welcome to another edition of Patch Snap, where we highlight a picture or pictures of around Burlington or of Burlington residents out and about.

Today's Patch Snap comes from Council on Aging Director Marge McDonald, who states:

"The ladies who call themselves 'The Knit Wits' put together gift bags for Burlington residents who will be spending the holidays in a nursing home.

Inside the bags are lap robes or small afghans knitted or crocheted by the ladies (as well as some others who donate) as well as some toiletries and a stuffed animal donated by the Salvation Army.

The numbers given out each year has gone down considerably with better home care services which allow seniors to stay in their own homes much longer."

Do you have a picture that would make a great Patch Snap? Email it with a brief description to Richard.Hosford@Patch.com.
