A look at what is happening in Burlington and the area this weekend.

 

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend. Patch is coming to the rescue.

We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check our picks for the activities to hit and new bars/restaurants/shops to explore.

1. FACULTY ACOUSTIC SHOWCASE

Where/when: Real School of Music, 56 Middlesex Tpke; Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.

Why go: Free concert featuring experienced players and students of the school.

Pricing: Free

2. HOLLOW BY KIMBERLY DAVIS BASSO

Where/when: Atlantis Playmakers, 380 Cambridge St.; Friday at 8 p.m.

Why go: See a new drama, featuring a trio of actresses trying to hold on to what is dear, what is real, and what is true. Margaret (Amy West) is faced with the challenge of her mother's advancing illness and a daughter who may or may not exist.

Pricing: $12.50-$15

3. COMMUNITY YARD SALE

Where/when: Fox Hill Elementary School; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why go: Check out what's for sale and support the Burlington Relay for Life and cancer research.

Pricing: Depends on purchase

4. FAMILY FISHING FESTIVAL

Where/when: Burlington Reservoir, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. 

Why go: The Festival will include knot tying, casting, baiting, fish identification, fish cleaning, catch and release methods, camping in the wild and other instruction. You may bring your own fishing equipment or use equipment which will be provided. No fishing license required.

Pricing: Free but register in advance at the Recreation Department (781) 270-1600.

5. SORAMAME BUNKO: JAPANESE STORYTIME

Where/when: Burlington Public Library; Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Why go: Japanese cultural awareness and language preservation through reading and related activities for children.

Pricing: Free
