Burlington Company Wins Biologic Drug Patent for Cancer
Coronado Biosciences announced this week they have obtained a key patent for new cancer treatment.
Coronado Biosciences is at it again.
Last week we carried a story of the bio-tech company researching the use of parasites found in pig feces to treat autoimmune conditions such as Chrohn's Disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
Now this week the Boston Herald reported that the company has been awarded a patent by the U.S. Patent Trademark Office for a biologic that can activate a body's immune system's natural killer cells to fight cancer.
According to the story, early studies of this treatment have shown activity in myeloma, breast cancer, prostate cancer and ovarian cancer.
