UPDATED 5:07 p.m.: Burlington Bank Robbery Suspect Caught in Chelmsford

The suspect reportedly robbed a Citizens Bank in Burlington and was caught in Chelmsford.

 

UPDATED, 5:07 p.m.:

The suspect was arrested after his vehicle struck a guardrail on Route 3 northbound and he attempted to flee the road into a swamp, The Lowell Sun is reporting. He was arreseted in an industrial park on the other side of the swamp.

Also according to the Sun, police stated the suspect was carrying a large amount of cash when arrested.

UPDATED, 3:34 p.m.: Police in Chelmsford have arrested the suspect on Steadman Street, according to Chelmsford Patch. 

UPDATED, 3:25 p.m.: According to Twitter user @NEFirebuff, authorities are in pursuit of the suspect's vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer, on Interstate 495 past Route 3.

Burlington Police are responding to a bank robbery at the Citizens Bank on the Middlesex Turnpike at Route 62, according Twitter reports.

A male suspect fled in a red van, according to Twitter user @NEFirebuff, whose tweet about the incident was retweeted by Burlington Police. He fled toward route 3.
