An April Fool's Day Prank From State Rep. Gordon

If you saw headlines on April 1 indicating 21st Middlesex District State Representative resident Ken Gordon was running for U.S. Senate (like we did), the joke is on you.

21st Middlesex District State Representative Ken Gordon got into the April Fool's Day spirit with a spoof blog post announcing his intention to run as a write-in candidate in the upcoming U.S. Senate special election.

Monday morning, Gordon tweeted "Ken announces run for U.S. Senate and more from Beacon Hill," from his twitter account along with a link to the blog post mentioned above.

From the blog post:

Reminded that a state-wide election covers an area that is far greater than a race for state representative, Gordon appeared confused. "You mean Massachusetts goes beyond Route 495?  Can somebody call Rep. Aaron Vega and ask how long it takes to get to Holyoke?"

The post was a fantastic gag, including faux quotes from State Sen. Mike Barrett, State Sen. Ken Donnelly and former Rep. Charles Murphy.

The last paragraph of the post makes it clear the announcement was in jest:

Happy's April Fool's Day everyone, and we hope you enjoyed your Passover or Easter holidays if you observed them, and your weekend in any case.
