English At Large is non-profit organization based in Medford which serves 21 towns in the suburbs of Boston. We have approximately 200 adult learners on our waiting list who are in need of someone to help them reach their English related goals. We are currently looking for new volunteers to work with our learners on a weekly basis. The volunteer commitment is for two hours of instruction per week, for a period of six months. After the initial commitment, volunteers can then decide to continue working with the same learner (most do), to work with a different learner, or to take a break. In order to be matched with a learner, you must attend our 15-hour training workshop.

For the Spring of 2012, we will be offering training workshops in Lexington. It's important to remember that it's possible to be matched with a learner who lives close to the town where you live if you don't live in Lexington.

Many volunteers like to attend the workshops with a friend or family member who is also interested in becoming a volunteer. Please share this posting with other people who may be interested!

--Instead of registering here, sign-up to volunteer directly with English At Large. If interested in volunteering with us, please visit our volunteer page to register and find out about more of our exciting opportunities.--
