Mad Dogs finish the season strong against Salem
In their last league game the Marshall Simonds Mad Dog Hockey team took on Salem last Thursday morning at the O'Brien ice rink in Woburn. This was the second matchup for these two teams and the Mad Dogs came out strong with a quick goal from forward Jeff Russo assisted by defensemen Connor Desharnais. Goaltender Brian Wilshusen was strong in net not allowing Salem any points. Next strike Kyle Barry tipped in a goal from a nice shot that Cam Mercier took assisted by Chris Mills. With the score now at 2 to nothing the Mad Dogs did not let up. Brian “Shoe” kept strong in net keeping Salem to no points. Then Max Hovasse put one in the back of the net with help from Desharnais and Barry. With a strong lead the Mad Dogs did not sit back they kept the energy going. Raphy DeCarlucci relieved Wilshusen in net to finish out the game. Russo scored next assist by Ryan O'Connor and Robbie Ramirez to bring the lead to four goals. Salem tried to get things going, they put one in the net but their efforts were too late, time was running out. Ryan O'Connor tacked on two goals assisted by Ramirez, Desharnais, Russo and Hovasse. Final score 6 to 1 to end the season with a record of 11-8-1
